Do you see him in the fire?
Do you see him in the light?
He’s calling you, do you hear him?
His voice is low and grim.
Do you feel him standing there,
Just beyond your reach.
The stars are brightly shining,
The flowers bloom.
In the distance, do you see him loom?
The trees know he’s there
And so does the moon.
The moon sees your deepest secrets.
She knows your darkest thoughts.
Be careful what you wish for,
They know it all.
And before you know it,
It’s your time to fall.
You always see him coming,
It’s never surprising.
Will you be scared when you see him coming,
When he’s knocking at your door.
Will you try to hide?
Or will you be ready and take his hand?
For one last long ride.
