With raven hair and a face so fair,

She bows to her guests in a lily white dress, that

Shines so bright in the candle light. She wears a happy expression

To hide her depression because she has nothing left to fight for.

If the world would only understand that she doesn’t want to be chained to the land.

She wants to fly up high and never cry, she wants to sing with the birds and always be heard

          No matter what she says.

But day after day she wastes away in a tower of brick and stone. She grows old and cold

And is no longer bold, she wants to cry but will not. She can only think about the lessons that

She was taught, she once cried rivers and lakes and now she’ll do whatever it takes to keep

Her eyes dry so that she has no more tears to cry.

She wishes she could truly love, like in tales of old, but it’s a shame,

Because it always stays the same.
