down the road in
Bushwick with pins in your
hair, strawberries and
watermelons and
pimple patches on
your forehead, not looking when
crossing the street and
gold bangles on your
wrist, pink and blue in
your hair and you’re
down the road in Bushwick, your
hands clasped around a
boy’s ring finger, a tight
grip, and you’ll
never let go, at the
intersection, you look right at
me and
never say anything.
